Safety Tips for our Students and Mentors

• While we promote networking, we advise you not to share any personal information with other students or mentors in the meeting.

• Do not contact mentors outside any meetings. Please keep in mind that our mentors are volunteering their time and knowledge. Their privacy should always be respected. Mentors are prohibited from asking students personal questions and information. All conversations between students and mentors must occur during meetings and in meeting chat rooms. Questions can also be relayed to mentors at info@sgcgirls.com.

• If you ever feel uncomfortable in a meeting, leave the meeting. Let your parent or guardian know what made you feel uncomfortable and contact us at safety@sgcgirls.com.

• Always be mindful of your camera. We do not want anyone to feel bad or embarrassed about something they accidentally did on camera.

• Always have a parent or guardian present during the meetings.

• If a meeting gets hacked, leave the meeting immediately. A new meeting ID will be emailed to you, and the meeting will resume 5 minutes after the new meeting ID is sent.

• Please report any unprofessional behavior from students and/or mentors at safety@sgcgirls.com.
